Winter ~ the sweetness of stillness
I chased away the end of another season. My attachment to ease and warmth still burning bright.
You cannot dance in an endless summer, the Robin said. Your feet will tire, your body call for rest, your creativity call to swap experiences for reflections.
But I didn’t listen. As I ran back to the humid warmth, the loud chatting parrots, buzzing community, love and it’s loudness.
And here I sit, sun and an endless summer of potential bliss surrounding me. with my mind calling for slowness, reflection and humming a lower toned resting state than usual. I lie in the ground, cover myself in insects, it’s too alive here to rest. The fruit not tasting as sweet, the sun glaring it’s perpetual warmth, the smiles only half felt. I crave snow blankets and to sleep like the naked trees do. To plant projects and dreams in a short spell of unlit soil.
Without the night the day cannot be truly seen.
Sometimes, i cry out for darkness as i do for light.
- an unexpected longing for winter (these thoughts passed already)
